How to obtain World War I Draft Registration Cards
World War I draft cards, Record Group 163, Records of the Selective Service System (World War I), are housed in NARA's Southeast Regional Center in Atlanta.

You may view the original records at the Atlanta facility, or you may contact the Southeast regional archives to obtain copies of the records. Please include your postal mailing address, as well as any relevant information that may aid us with your search (dates, names, places, etc).

Microfilm copies of the draft cards are also available as Microfilm Publication M1509. This microfilm can be accessed at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC, and at most Regional Research Centers. Microfilm may also be purchased. For information on how to purchase microfilm, see https://eservices.archives.gov/orderonline/. You will need to have the publication number (M1509) and the roll number.
